Ban a user or an IP

An IP like 203.0.113.7 is banned as an IP; anything else as a user. Banned names and addresses are listed under Moderation.

Banned users

Banned by username. Lift lets the name back in; an IP banned with it stays on the Banned IPs list.

Lift lets the IP back in; a user banned with it stays on the Banned users list. A row like 203.0.113.0/24 is a whole block of 256 addresses, banned automatically around a flooder; Lift on it lets the whole block back in. A flooder on a phone carrier's network (T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, AT&T Mobility, US Cellular) is banned by its one address, never the whole block; a fixed-wireless or home internet provider is not a carrier. How long an automatic flooding ban lasts is set under Settings.

Unban requests

Sent from the ban page by banned visitors, newest first. Lift ban lifts the ban that visitor hit; Dismiss keeps it. Kept for 90 days.

Always let in

An IP ban never turns these addresses away. A ban on a user still does. Neither an address nor a name here is ever banned automatically for flooding (the name must match exactly).

Blocked words

A message or a name that uses one of these is turned away. Whole words only.

Blocked signatures

About this list
A signature is the browser brands, platform, screen and time zone a page reports about its device. Block one with Block this signature on a Connections row: every later connection whose page reports exactly the same is refused with a notice, and matching connections in the room are put out. Admins and the Always let in list are never refused. Remove lets the signature back in.

Takes every message off the screen for everybody. The transcript and the evidence stay.

Open reads or exports the saved record. Clear deletes the whole of it: every message, private message and export. It cannot be undone.

Accounts

Change password replaces an account's password at once and ends its sign-ins, your own included, so they log in again with the new one; the transcript notes who changed it and when, never the password. Deleting an account frees the name and signs it out. Admin accounts stay.

Connections

About this log
One line per connection to the chat, newest first, kept 30 days. The browser id stays the same across names from the same browser (cookie). Network and place are what Cloudflare saw; a VPN or hosting network shows as its owner, not the person's home. The last line is the handshake: new or returning cookie, the page's Origin, the browser brand header, whether the page reported its device (a program that connects straight to the socket never does; tabs opened before 9/23 11:15 AM did not either) and how many messages the connection sent. #number is the connection id shown under Recent messages; Messages opens what that connection sent (public, private and removed) under its row. Block this signature puts the row's browser brands, platform, screen and time zone on the Blocked signatures card. Block this network puts the row's AS number on the Blocked networks card; a row reading "refused: blocked network" was a guest join the room turned away. Page report check: while On, a connection that sends no page report within 20 seconds is dropped with a notice asking for a reload and its row reads "no page report, dropped"; it never starts before 9/24/2026 5:00 PM Central and has no exemptions: admins and the Always let in list are dropped like anyone else. The check is switched under Settings.

Sent from the Issue / Feature Request button above the chat. Newest first. Delete takes one off the list; a copy stays under Removed messages with who deleted it and when.

Settings

Allowed with limits: a guest can send photos only, up to 2 MB, 2 an hour per internet address, and none from a VPN, hosting or Tor network. Members only: guests cannot send photos or videos at all. A signed-in account keeps the usual limits (photos to 8 MB, videos to 30 MB, 6 a minute) either way. The switch takes effect at once.

Blocked networks by AS number are listed under Moderation.
A dropped connection reads "no page report, dropped" on the Connections log. No exemptions: admins and the Always let in list are dropped like anyone else.
